Secret Recipe to make the Crunchiest Chilli Oil to your taste
Calling out for all the dumplings lovers, if you are like me, you need to make this the next time you eat dumplings! This is my favourite dumpling sauce combo but it’s great for dipping anything in really!
I think the key ingredients is a good chilli oil. I am using Rangoon Sunrise Salad Toppers – it has a nice variety of bean crunch and garlic chips & you can manage how much chilli level you want with this which makes it perfect for dipping sauce. The aroma of baked peanuts and garlic chips infused in the sizzling oil filled up the whole kitchen and everyone wants a plate.

Here I also made my own plant-based dumpling from scratch combination of shiitake mushrooms, chives, water chestnut & tofu. The filling is so fulfilling and has a great texture every bite. I made vegan broth in advanced to go with the dumpling.
Ingredients for Dumplings
Chives
Light Soy Sauce
Sesame Oil
Corn Starch
Making the Dumplings
Mix all the filling ingredients and pound in the mortar pestle to get finer consistency but still coarse. Bring a small bowl with water and fill the filling into the wrapper by scooping with spoon. Use your index finger to wet the water on the edges of the wrapper. Close the wrapper into triangle shape. It is critical not to fill too little or too much to get the best shape dumplings. If you are the first time making this, the recommendation is to test a few and boil them into the boiling water to see if the filling came out or if the water went inside. Once you have found your ratio, you can repeat the rest.
Ingredients for Broth
Vegan Broth/ Stock
Light Soy Sauce
Dark Soy Sauce
Ginger powder
Minced Garlic
Mushroom seasoning
Boil the water in the pot with lid. Add garlic, ginger, broth & seasoning to boil. Simmer the broth over the low heat for 20 minutes. Add a dash of light soy sauce and dark soy sauce according to your taste. Leave it to serve with dumplings later.
Ingredients for DIY Chilli Oil
Vegetable Oil/ Avocado Oil/Canola Oil
Chilli Flakes
Salt to taste
Heat up the oil over the stove. In a clean, dry glass jar add salad topper, chilli flakes and a pinch of salt. Pour the hot oil into the jar and mix with a spoon to get the oil infused with garlic chips, peanuts, broad beans, butter beans and chilli.
